Argentine Citizenship

A- Requirements for Citizenship for children under 18 years.


1. Original birth certificate, or original and photocopy with original stamps legalization of the National Registry of Persons of Argentina, for the parent that will exercise the option on behalf of the child. It suffices that one parent is a native citizen of . This must be demonstrated by showing the birth certificate originally issued by the Argentine Civil Registry.

 

2. Original ID document (D.N.I, L.C or L.E.) of the Argentine parent that will exercise the option on behalf of the child.                                 

 

3. Passport (non-Argentine) or ID document (Argentine) of the parent who does not exercise the option but will accept it.

 

4. 2 x original birth certificate of the child, bearing the “Apostille of The Hague” stamp (“Apostille Stamp”) issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia.

 

5. Family residence in the jurisdiction of Australia.

 

6. Other documents (if applicable). In case of change of name/s of any parent you’ll need the original certificate of name change legalized with the “Apostille of The Hague” stamp by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, and an official translation into Spanish.

 

B- Requirements for Citizenship for persons 18 years and over.


1. Item original birth certificate of the Argentine parent.

 

2. Original ID document (D.N.I, L.C or L.E.) of the Argentine parent.

 

3. Passport or ID of the parent who is not Argentine.

 

4. 2 x original birth certificate of the adult, legalized with the “Apostille of The Hague” stamp (“Apostille Stamp”) issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia.

 

5. Criminal record certificate, legalized with the “Apostille Stamp” by DFAT.

 

6. Valid passport of the person who will receive citizenship, to establish his identity.

 

7. Other documents (if applicable). In case of change of name/s of any parent you’ll need the original certificate of name change legalized with the “Apostle” stamp by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, and an official translation into Spanish.

 

8. Family residence in the jurisdiction of Australia.


THIS DOCUMENTATION IS MANDATORY AND REQUIRED FOR ALL CASES, IF ANY IS MISSING THE PROCEDURE CANNOT BE DONE.
